The Minister for the NDIS has made significant NDIS announcements about the future of the Scheme, alongside important budget decisions that could affect people who self-manage and self-direct our NDIS supports.
Join Sam Paior and Dr George Taleporos for this practical Self Manager Hub workshop unpacking what the NDIS announcements and budget could mean for self-management and self-direction.

This workshop will focus on what we know so far, what still needs clarification, what the timeline for change may look like, and the Parliamentary processes that need to occur before any major changes come in.
We will discuss:
- The key NDIS announcements made by the Minister for the NDIS
- What the budget may signal about the future of the Scheme
- What these changes could mean for self-management and self-direction
- The likely timeline for proposed changes
- The Parliamentary processes that need to happen before changes come into effect
- Possible impacts on choice, control, and flexibility
- What self-managers may need to prepare for
- The questions we still need government, the NDIA, and the NDIS Commission to answer
- How our community can raise concerns and advocate for practical solutions
This will be a plain English, participant-focused workshop with time for questions and discussion.

Sam Paior is a respected NDIS expert, advocate, and parent, with deep experience supporting people with disability and our families to understand and navigate the NDIS. She is a board member of the Self Manager Hub and the CEO of the Growing Space
Dr George Taleporos is a disability rights advocate, NDIS policy expert, and the CEO of the Self Manager Hub
