Major changes are coming to our NDIS, including mandatory registration for some supports, and new NDIS legislation is expected to be introduced this month.
For NDIS participants and families who self-manage and self-direct our supports, these changes raise serious and practical questions about choice and control, how supports can be arranged, and what we need to do to maintain our individualised support arrangements.
This special online community forum brings together our community with senior representatives from both the NDIA and the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.
It is a unique opportunity to hear directly from both agencies in the same workshop, ask questions, share concerns, and better understand how the changes may affect people who self-manage and self-direct our supports.
Speakers
Ross Andrews
NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission
Alex Rosenthal

Ross and Alex will help explain the changes to mandatory registration, including what they may mean for SIL supports, self-managed and self-directed arrangements, and participants using individualised support models.
The discussion will also cover recent Budget announcements and the new NDIS legislation expected to be introduced this month.

Why this workshop matters
For many people with disability and our families, self-management and self-direction are essential to safe, stable, and personalised support.
These changes are moving quickly and there is still a lot of uncertainty in the community. This forum is a chance to get information directly from the NDIA and the NDIS Commission, have questions answered, share concerns, and make sure the experiences of people with disability and our families are heard.
