Do you self-manage your NDIS funding or self-direct your own supports?

You might choose your own support workers. You might organise and coordinate your supports and decide how, when, and where your support is provided. You may engage independent contractors or work with providers in different ways. You might also directly employ workers. You might be exploring how you can have more choice and control over your supports.

Both NDIS participants and nominees are encouraged to take part.

Self Manager Hub wants to hear about what is working, what is difficult, and what information or support you need.

Why take part?

This survey is your opportunity to tell us:

  • what information and resources would help you
  • what works well about self-management or self-directed support
  • what is difficult, frustrating, or confusing
  • where you currently find information and where the gaps are
  • how you would prefer to receive information and support
  • what would make it easier to choose, engage, or directly employ support workers

There is also a really important and optional section for people who have had self-management removed, limited, or refused by the NDIA.

If this has happened to you, we want to understand what occurred, what reasons and evidence you were given, and whether you were offered support to address the NDIA’s concerns. This will help us raise documented issues and advocate for fairer decisions.

How we will use your answers

Your answers will help the Self Manager Hub:

  • prioritise future guides, resources, webinars, and workshops
  • improve information for people who self-manage or self-direct their supports
  • identify gaps in current information and support
  • advocate for clearer policy and greater choice and control.
  • communicate community experiences to the NDIA and other decision-makers.

The survey can be completed anonymously. You do not need to provide your name. At the end, you may choose to provide your email address if you are willing for us to contact you.

Survey findings will be reported in a de-identified way. We will remove identifying details from responses or quotations before sharing them publicly or with decision-makers.

Have your say

The survey takes approximately 15 minutes to complete.

Every response will help us provide better resources, information and support for people who self-direct and self-manage their supports.

Extended until Sunday 9 August 2026.
